What is the interview process?

The process involves a 1-2 hour video interview at your home, focusing on your memories and experiences. I set up the lights, camera and audio. You sit in a comfortable chair or sofa and we start recording.

The recording typically lasts between 1 to 2 hours, allowing for an in-depth and meaningful conversation.

Who conducts the interviews?

Dennis, the owner of Remember Me Interviews, records and edits the interview. I will create a comfortable environment, encouraging you to share your life stories naturally and authentically. As the owner, I will combine everything together personally, ensuring it will be worth your time and money.

What is the purpose of this service

Life is unpredictable. Capture many of your memories on film while you are healthy or as a safeguard in case of bad health or an accident.

This is an in depth interview, so your children, partners, grand children, extended family or friends can really know who you are or were. Give it to them while you are healthy! But If an accident, illness or age takes you away from your family then who better than yourself to tell them where you came from, what events shaped you and what you've done in your life. Don't leave questions unanswered.

Can I choose the location?

Yes you can select a comfortable location for your interview, ideally your home. Usually indoors is better for stable lighting and as a quieter setting. Outdoors is fine but changing brightness from clouds and the Sun plus external sounds can affect the quality of the recording.

What do I get for my Money?

You get my time. My care. My effort. When you commit, I will come to the location you choose for the interview. Conduct the interview then go home and edit the footage and add in your photos (I can scan your photos quickly on site - part of the service). You will get the complete interview with professional sound and visual quality. Something you can hold onto forever.

How long do I wait to get the finished product?

Depending on other interviews and the editing that goes with them you should realistically expect your finished product to be in your hands within 2 weeks. The photos I receive all need to be program trimmed by myself, touched up and added into the footage. Editing the video and photos can take a fair amount of time but I will be working hard to get through the work for you quickly and efficiently.

Can I get more than one copy of the interview?

Yes. You can buy as many wooden Maple decorative USB's with a copy of the film recorded as you like. Or share the internet link to the video.

I cover a range of topics focusing on your personal memories, family, interests, values and life experiences. Before the interview I will ask you if there are subjects you would like to avoid.

I will give you a list of subjects you will discuss. Find up to 60 photographs that represent those subjects. You will be asked to share your life stories, values and reflections during the interview.
